Saltbox home style
From Drummond House Plans Wiki
A Saltbox home style is easily recognized by its distinctive silhouette of the roof, with a short pitch in front and a long low slope to the rear. The long rear slop of the roof is called a catslide, in the South. A typical feature of this home style is also the large central chimney.
The shape of the roof is similar to the Colonial home style. Six-panel doors are a typical fixture as well. There is a trim around the window, called the window surround and the lintel above the window, acts to shelter the window from rain or snow.
