Retrofitting is an ungrading an existing structure or system to increase performance. Often used specifically in relation to energy retrofitting which which is the ugrading of a house to improve its energy efficiency. This includes adding insulation, caulking, weather stripping, replacing windows and doors and improving the heating the heating system.
